Well here we are again, February and the start of the official "wedding season." Before life gets too crazy here at the LH Calligraphy studio, I thought I would take the afternoon to figure out my blog, something I have been meaning to do forever....or at least the past few months!
To start I thought I would feature these compasses for a Santa Barbara Wedding I did several months ago for the lovely Liz Dennery Marks of Dennery Marks PR in Beverly Hills. Her photographer, Jennifer Skog, was kind enough to send a complete set of photos from the wedding. Here are some my favorites. The compasses were definitely a favorite of mine. They are so unique, rose-hued, with each person's name and table number in my personal favorite script, Bickham Swash Capitals. I adore this script, with all its elegant swirls.
Liz really found the most deliteful way to direct her guest to their seats! Here are the beautiful bride and groom in front of their reception tent. On the right side of the table, she also provided snuggly shawls for the women to wrap around their shoulders to keep out the sea breeze. The wedding took place on a beautiful private estate in Santa Barbara, California.
And finally, here are her menus. Each one was printed with a compass at the top to match her letterpressed invitations and mounted on a thick silver card stock. Add a belly band around the middle with each guests' name calligraphed in corresponding Bickham Swash Caps and you have a place card disguised as a menu.

your wedding is very cute.
Wow! What a clever idea, and so classic looking. I bet Liz's guests felt very special receiving these compass' and the hand penned calligraphy made them all the more special.
