Adventures of a Bride-to-Be

"Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right." (F. Scott Fitzgerald)

This is a start to a great year, the year Wes & I are getting married!!!!

This time of year when you make Resolutions, I am going to admit that I am horrible at making New Year's Resolutions as I normally break them a few days into the year. My sister at Christmas sent me a newspaper clipping from a few years ago that she had kept for me. It is a list of 30 fun things to do before you turn 30. Some I have accomplished and others I strive to do hopefully before I am 30. I have a little bit of time but cannot procrastinate!

1. Travel abroad alone
2. Drink a champagne cocktail in a Paris bar (check)
3. Find your own primary physician
4. Start a 401(k)
5. Make a proper cosmo (check)
6. Run a marathon
7. Forgive someone who has wronged you
8. Apologize to someone who you've wronged (check)
9. Blow your annual bonus on a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes
10. Master cooking one impressive meal (check)
11. Be a mentor
12. Save a sizable emergency fund
13. Get published (and not on your own or your friends' blog)
14. Learn to change a flat tire
15. Buy an original piece of art
16. Volunteer at a soup kitchen - more than once
17. Take a nighttime helicopter ride
18. Shop at an exclusive boutique without being intimidated (check)
19. Live alone (check)
20. Find a signature scent (check)
21. Divorce toxic friends (check)
22. Ask for a raise
23. Learn to salsa dance
24. Wear sunscreen daily
25. Buy a knock'em dead designer cocktail dress and wear it to your high school reunion
26. Drive leisurely across the country
27. Establish a routine to pray, reflect or meditate
28. Read a compilation of essays called: "The May Queen: Women on Life, Love, Work, and Pulling it all together in your 30s"
29. Go for your dream job
30. Confess to your best friend that you're in love with him (check)
Cheers to 2011!
Always with love,
Aly

This list reminds me of a similar list (non-resolution) you gave me about being a fabulous and proper lady. I still have it and should scan and e-mail it to you. Love the blog! ooxx
