A Ginko Leaf Reception

Another great reception idea! Instead of a tent card why not write on fall leaves? These leaves I did for my client in San Francisco. Her whole wedding had a ginko leaf theme, and these settings definitely tied it all together. I wrote on each leaf with white calligraphy ink and they turned out swimmingly for her destination wedding in Hawaii!
In response to yesterday's post, these leaves would function as fabulous placecards.

Ginko Leaves or other leaves can be ordered at our website, Laura Hooper Calligraphy.

These are so creative! I love when couples use something other than paper in their details!

Did you have to spray them with anything to make them remain flat? I also have a ginkgo theme, but am worried the leaves will curl. Help! Thanks!

Kelly - We order the leaves pre-pressed. I've never had a problem with them curling and have used them for several orders. If you are picking your own leaves, we'd recommend drying them in a heavy book and waiting until they are completely dry before writing on them. The leaves that are not dried are significantly more difficult to write on (unless you use something like a sharpie, which would probably work well regardless).
