Maps: Palm Beach, FL

Last week we shared a Fort Lauderdale map and today we've got this beach chic depiction of Palm Beach. From Bethesda-by-the-Sea to The Breakers and The Everglades Club ~ the map would not be complete without the final touch...Neiman Marcus!

The wedding weekend, which just took place, had many activities planned for the very special guests. These were mapped out on the reverse for easy reference.

The weekend included kickoff cocktails, a "night before" nightcap, casual beach party lunch, the wedding itself and concluded with a "morning after" brunch!

Sun Valley, Idaho Map

This Sun Valley, Idaho map is simple, creative and showcases the town and couple's favorite activity - skiing! We also included some area wildlife like the eagle, deer and sheep.
We love doing maps that include intineraries on the reverse. They are fun and informative!

Real Wedding: Norwalk, Connecticut

This couple loves Laura Hooper Calligraphy maps so much...they had two created for their wedding! They provided a 3-color map in letterpress with the itinerary on the back to all of their guests (the wedding weekend included a clam bake and post-wedding brunch)...

...and then had an enlarged poster of their "Journey to Each Other" (across the U.S.) displayed at the reception!

Thank you to Traci Romano Events for including us in this very special wedding!

Puerto Rico Map & Itinerary

We were so happy when this bride asked us to do a map and itinerary for her wedding in Puerto Rico coming up this month - especially since I myself visited the island just this past January!

You can see that the map is full of life and many "hotspots" hand-picked by the couple. They wanted to let their guests know their own favorite spots such as their favorite restaurant - El Patio de Sam, the lighthouse area known for whale watching and surfing - El Faro de Rincon, and of course the very cruise ship terminal that I sailed into in Old San Juan!

After completing the map, we used the icons to tie it into their wedding weeking itinerary!

Maps as Itineraries

We often talk about our maps used as Save the Date cards and part of welcome gift bags, but another very popular use for our maps is as itineraries. Here you can see this adorable Philadelphia map, of course showing all of the couple's important places of interest (the church, their favorite Philly Cheesesteak locale {Yummy!}, the Liberty Bell) but it also features the "Weekend Activities" on the reverse side.

Our favorite thing about the itinerary sides of the map is that we are able to use the quaint icons from the front side of the map to maintain the continuity of the piece.

This particular map had only a couple events to mention, but you can see from the itineraries below that often couples have a lot of information to share!

Itineraries

Here's a very cute map idea that incorporates weekend information to make an itinerary for guests. It's great to include with your invitation or in the welcome basket. This one incorporates my icons and Ella style with a computer text font for a stylish look. It's small, and folds to about 4.5x5 inches.

Here's the monogram from the front of the itinerary.

Maui Maps for Itinerary Covers

Another cute idea for destination weddings is to provide your guests with itineraries of fun activities to do while they are in town for your wedding. I've just finished a map and cover art for an itinerary for another wedding in beautiful Maui.

The map includes the wedding venue which is The Four Seasons, the cocktail reception location at the Marriott across the street from The Four Seasons, and the day-after BBQ at a state beach. It also shows Whalers Village in Ka'anapali, a nice beach for snorkeling and surfing on the north end of the Island, the airport, and the road to Hana where the Seven Sacred Pools are located.

The map is to be printed light blue card stock in chocolate brown ink on the inside cover of the itinerary. The cover as shown will be on the front. Several pages of detailed activities will be printed and inserted with twine on the inside of the cover. All the calligraphy was completed in Bickham Script.

Wedding Plans

Here's a great idea for a wedding itinerary. This wedding took place in Paris, France. It was a destination wedding for many of the guests. The bride, Vanessa, really wanted a map but it wasn't in her budget, so we came up with this schedule of plans as an adorable alternative. It outlines the events of the wedding week with little icons next to each topic. All the icons are were hand drawn and the headings can be done in any calligraphy style.
